Textured, variegated yarns seem to demand very simple shapes to show them off, and this jacket fits the bill with extra sass. The wide rib pattern used throughout shows off the yarn's character really well, and the wide portrait/shawl collar-- done in garter stitch-- adds an extra dimension of appreciation. Sleeves have a gentle cap and armholes are somewhat shaped. Yet it's really simple in unexpected ways; the front edges are built in as you go so there's no extra picking up for buttonbands later-- in fact, there are no buttons at all, just natural casual ease.
