Powell is fascinated by historical clothes and her work is "Interpretations" of them -- hence the name of her pattern line. These collars are enormous fun to make, use up odds and ends of DK-weight yarn (including those bits of glitter you're hoarding), and make a unique accessory over a plain crew or turtleneck. Think of the costuming and theatrical possibilities!
Two different designs are included - the Pharoah's collar, shown in regal lapis lazuli, turquoise, red, and gold, and the Scribe's collar, two variations shown in more subtle pastels.
The pattern is very easy to read and explains techniques and terms clearly. Gauge over st st would be approximately 24 st = 4in/10cm.
